Peaches and Green

True to much of Hillesø Designs global style, this emerald green silk
dupionni evening suit was inspired by fashion history from anywhere in the
world.

Elements orchestrated here are: the tuxedo tails coat complete with
cummerbund, an overall design inspired by 1913 Western fashion with hobble
skirts, the “Armistice” blouse (1919), and a swallow- tail skirt design from an
ancient Chinese figurine.

The tails coat is embellished with corded piping, frogs and dozens of small
silk covered buttons. The skirt wraps in a swallow-tail front with a vented and
button embellished back.

The blouse is made from a cloud of peach silk organza. Made as things used to
be made, with tiny French seams, French lace attached by hand, a long row
of tiny snaps for closure and pearl buttons at the wrist.
