This emerald green silk dupionni suit was inspired by early 20th century elegance. I love the tails coats of men's evening wear and decided to put it into an evening suit. It has a reasonably traditional cut of a tails coat, embellished with corded piping, dozens of buttons and frogs.

The skirt wraps in a swallowtail front with a vented and buttoned back. The waist is enhanced by a cummerbund.

The blouse is made from a cloud of peach silk organza embellished with a bit of French lace and pearl buttons at the wrist. The closure is a long row of tiny snaps.
