The outer layer of gossamer silk, dyed into the evening shroud is weighted by hand-sewn beading. A few evening "stars" are on the middle layer representing the twilight stars. The inside layer is a heavier layer of silk crepe dyed a robin's egg blue and painted the vivid colors of an abstract impressionist sunset.

Painted Silk Sunset Ensemble

Inspired by the sunsets at the Pacific Ocean in Washington State, this jacket is made from three layers of handpainted silk. The fluid color separations in this jacket move as if the wind were in the trees. The landscape is a view of a Pacific Ocean sunset through the forest, reflecting on the wet sand.

Teal washed silk charmeuse trims the jacket, with a matching ballet-length dress completes the ensemble.
