Silk Ikat Surcoat Vest

Teaching Fashion History, I found the surcoat in the Rennaisance. It was a sleeveless garment that went over a doublet. Here, a stunning ikat shawl from Thailand went into this vest. In silvery tones, trimmed and lined in black silk noil, this vest can go anywhere - with jeans or slacks or a skirt. It has an easy fit and fine silk covered button detailing that makes it very comfortable and distinctive to wear anytime, all the time.
