Forest Butterfly Coat

Inspired by the wings of a butterfly, this handpainted evening coat is reminiscent of an impressionist's painting of filtered light through a forest canopy.

This dolman sleeved coat is made from very drapable 4-ply silk tissue crepe, lined with eggplant silk charmeuse. It is further embellished with silk piping, braid and beads, and has side seam pockets for convenience.

Shown with the coat is a shibori hand pleated dress by Justine Limpus Parish. The combination makes avery comfortable and elegant ensemble. It is one of those timeless pieces that you can dress up or down, depending on the occasion.
