This beautiful jacket is truly unique. It is made from 2 matching handwoven silk and wool jacquard shawls. The card looms run the pattern continuously, with the weaver stopping it to apply the woven borders. Every 5 or so match in the placement of each design. To complicate this even further, each dyelot is different. So the chances of getting 2 to match perfectly are slim. Only 5 of these jackets were made - that was the totality of the matched pieces I could find.

Yanxia, my incredible seamstress, took 1-1/2 hour to layout and cut each jacket from the shawls.
