Hillesø & Company Designs is a design/manufacturer of refined, comfortable and unique clothing and accessories primarily for men - and for women.

I have moved! I chose a slower pace for my business and recently moved to Appleton, Wisconsin. This year, I have traveled extensively - around the USA, and 2 months in Mexico. Over the next few weeks, you will see some of the results of my travels on this website, as well as some re-defining of what and how I operate.

The concept of mail order custom may not seem like a possibility. However, it really does work! I have successfully sent custom garments all over the country and even to Australia. I work from measurements, usually produce a muslin pattern that is sent to the client, which is then turned into the final piece.

I also can travel, and do attend shows from time to time. My studio is always open for visitors to Wisconsin, too.

Hillesø & Company Designs was founded in January, 1998 by Randi Hillesø. The Company's mission is to provide finely crafted garments and accessories in luxurious fabrics for both men and women. Designed with comfort in mind and made in beautiful natural fiber fabrics, Hillesø & Company's designs are the type of clothing to build a wardrobe around. Fabrics come from around the world. Some are hand-woven for Hillesø & Company Designs in India or Southeast Asia, some are hand-dyed in the studio.. Others are from China, Indonesia, Japan, Italy, England and France. All linings are silk for a long wearing, breathable garment. Unique embellishments include handcrafted tassels, ties, antique fabrics or artifacts incorporated into the design.

Randi Hillesø, President and primary designer, started her training at an early age with her mother. Making doll clothes on the sewing machine at age 6, she progressed to creating a full wardrobe by age 16. She won many sewing contests through her teenage years, and went on to study theatre costuming and pattern making in college. Various careers in retailing, arts administration and small business development have led her to the launch of Hillesø & Company Designs. As a lifelong learner, consumate researcher and a lifelong lover of the arts, she combines her skills and talents in this business.

Currently, she is also an instuctor of Fashion Design at the International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT) in Seattle.
